Wow! See over ten different species of Alaska’s animals all in a natural setting.

Sometimes you just don’t get the chance to see animals in the wild as well as you might like. Alaskans don’t either. But on this tour viewing the wildlife in a natural setting is guaranteed. Travel down the world renown scenery of the Turnagain Arm along the Seward Highway, one of our nation's Scenic Byways, to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. Amidst 360 degree mountain terrain see and learn about our native animals on this fully narrated tour. It’s a joy to watch the different species of Alaskan animals such as brown bear, black bear, moose, caribou, wolves, musk ox, lynx, and wood bison as they would be living in the wild. Bring your camera. The animals might pose for you.

FAQ’S
WALKING:
The tour does not require much walking. Most times our guests choose to walk and stretch their legs so they can get closer to view the animals. The van is always available. In case of inclement weather, it’s always possible to jump in and out of the van.

WEATHER and CLOTHING:
Summer in South Central Alaska ranges from the mid 50’s to the mid 70’s F. We always prepare for rain and wind. Even though it may be nice in Anchorage, it is not uncommon for the area at the Conservation Center to be colder and cloudier. There is plenty of room in our vans to bring an extra jacket and hat. It’s always advisable to wear sunglasses and bring along sunscreen and insect repellent.
MOBILITY:
We understand your concerns and have had guests with mobility issues on tour with us successfully. We seat them in the best place for their abilities, either in the front or near the door where the step in is not too high. At the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, we are able to pull up to the enclosures so that most of the animals will be visible from the large windows in our vans. There are times you might like to get out for closer viewing. There is about about 200 yards of walking on a flat walkway to see the bears. At other stops walking is mostly on flat ground. The center is not paved.
